Karlovy Vary and its historic city centre are now a popular tourist destination. The popularity of the spa and healing springs is complemented by the KVIFF International Film Festival<\/strong>, which attracts cinema fans from all over the world every year. The city is rich in beautiful historic buildings, where many historical styles are intertwined, including spa buildings and townhouses. You can stroll along the river Tepl\u00e1 through the city centre, visit five lavish colonnades<\/strong> and try the healing mineral springs, which are famous for their beneficial effects. Traditional spa wafers<\/strong> are also popular. Every trip to Karlovy Vary should lead through the Moser<\/strong> glassworks, the Thun<\/strong> porcelain factory and the Jan Becher Museum<\/strong> with a tasting of Becherovka herbal liqueur. The Mattoni Museum<\/strong> presents the footsteps of Mr. Mattoni, his life and the history of mineral water. You can also visit the magnificent neo-Renaissance Mattoni Villa.<\/strong><\/p>

If you are interested in learning more about the spring water, take an excursion to the underground Spring Colonnade<\/strong>. There are 13 mineral springs<\/strong> in the spa town. In the Karlovy Vary Museum you can learn all about the history of the spa town. You can also visit the Papilonia Butterfly House<\/strong> and the Wax Museum<\/strong>.<\/p>

The lookout towers and viewpoints<\/strong> of Karlovy Vary offer beautiful views. The Diana<\/strong> tower is on the list of cultural monuments, and you can take a cable car up to it. The oldest sightseeing structure is the wooden gazebo Mayer’s Gloriette, also known as the Jelen\u00ed skok<\/strong> (“Deer Jump”). A few meters further on is the lookout of the Peter the Great. The Three Crosses<\/strong> gazebo offers a beautiful view of the city. Another point of interest lies nearby and that is the Camera Obscura<\/strong>. You can also visit Goethe’s lookout<\/strong> which is accessible by car and has a parking lot. In the vicinity of Karlovy Vary there is the Ple\u0161ivec<\/strong> lookout tower. After climbing 66 steps you will enjoy the view of the Kru\u0161n\u00e9 hory and its highest mountain Kl\u00ednovec. You will also see the Fichtelberg mountain on the German side, the Doupovsk\u00e9 hory and the Slavkovsk\u00fd les. You can drive directly to the Kl\u00ednovec<\/strong> lookout tower, or you can take the cable car up.<\/p>

The destinations of the trips can be castles, palaces and ruins. The medieval Loket Castle<\/strong> offers visitors an exhibition of historical weapons, Gothic wall paintings and exhibits from the Loket collection. Special mention should be made of the Loket Castle Amphitheatre, where you can enjoy plenty of cultural experiences<\/strong> in summer. The state castle and chateau of Be\u010dov nad Teplou<\/strong> offers many attractions. The rarest jewel is reliquary of St. Maurus <\/strong>, the second most valuable monument in the Czech Republic after the Crown Jewels, with engravings dating from the 1st to 3rd century AD. In Be\u010dov you can also visit the botanical garden, the toy museum or the moto museum.<\/p>

The popular ski resort is located in the mountain village of Bo\u017e\u00ed dar<\/strong>. Together with the nearby Kl\u00ednovec <\/strong>ski resort, it offers skiers many downhill slopes of varying difficulty in winter. The wild nature of the mountains of Kru\u0161n\u00e9 hory is also perfect for hiking and cycling. The nature trail leading through the national nature reserve Bo\u017e\u00eddarsk\u00e9 peat bog<\/strong> is one of several options.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the Thun Porcelain School you can decorate your own mugs or take a ride in the Children’s Paradise<\/strong> at the Svato\u0161sk\u00e9 sk\u00e1ly on Appaloosa indian horses. In the Christmas House<\/strong> you and your children will experience the magical atmosphere of Christmas all year round.<\/p>

If you are going on a trip with children, take the fairytale trail Baby Jesus Trail<\/strong> in Bo\u017e\u00ed dar village. Active experiences are offered by the Children’s World in the Novako Ski Resort with mountain scooters and off-road carts rental. You can visit the rope park in the Ple\u0161ivec area or observation tower overlooking Loket Castle.
